Luke Fenhaus toured Wisconsin with his racecar over the weekend, racing Thursday night at State Park Speedway, Saturday at Dells Raceway Park and Sunday at Slinger Super Speedway.  The Wausau, WI driver started off with a third-place finish at State Park, his home track, in the Flip Merwin Memorial race.

“The last few days have been really good,” said Fenhaus.  “We finally got our stuff better at State Park and we are still learning and trying to get better.  We just need to stay focused and go get them at the next race.”

On Saturday, Fanhaus made the trip to Dells Raceway Park for the Dick Trickle 99, where he brought home a fourth-place finish.

“We started off not so good at the Dells and changed stuff around and got better and better,” said Fenhaus.  “Towards the end of the race we were pretty good, we just were too loose into the corner and the other guys weren’t.”

The 15-year-old driver capped off his busy weekend with his first ever trip to Slinger Super Speedway in a Super Late Model.  After showing speed in practice and qualifying second, Fenhaus’ night ended early due to a right front tire going down.

“Slinger was really good, I love that track,” said Fenhaus.  “It’s really fun to race around and I think going into the Slinger Nationals we now have a good baseline set-up.  We still need to get better and faster, but we’re learning as we go.”

Next-up for Fenhaus will be another trip to State Park Speedway on Wednesday, July 3rd.
